About the institute

For the students

Students can broaden their horizons and expand their networks across borders through academic partnerships, research collaborations and exchange programs with Latin American institutions. These connections with professionals, academics and experts in the Latin American business field provide students with career opportunities, internships and mentorship programs that enrich their knowledge and life experiences.

GIMLA offers various educational programs such as Latam Term, St. Gallen Connection and EMBE Brazil, which aim to enhance students' academic experiences and professional development. These programs provide access to unique learning opportunities tailored to the Latin American context.

As a research centre, GIMLA promotes interdisciplinary collaboration across borders. Students have the opportunity to participate in cutting-edge research projects to gain practical experience in addressing real-world challenges in Latin America and to drive innovation in the development of new projects.

GIMLA promotes cultural exchange and understanding between Switzerland and Latin America through activities and events. Students immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Latin America and share their experiences with their fellow students.

for the researchers

At GIMLA, we are committed to advancing knowledge through our internal research initiatives that focus on interdisciplinary collaboration across borders in common interest between HSG researchers, faculty members and our Latin American partners.

In addition, we proudly serve as a leading house for the Latin America region, representing Swiss scientific interests and promoting bilateral collaboration with priority partners. We develop funding instruments and promote scientific relationships to support collaborative research efforts between international teams from different research centres.
